Our approach

Physiotherapy for children that is genuinely fun

Children are not small adults — and that is especially true in physiotherapy. They need different stimuli, different exercises and above all patience and trust. At HOME4MOTION we have specialised in exactly that. From the first months of life through to adolescence we work with children and young people using approaches that suit their age and their development — playful, patient and always individual.

When physiotherapy for children makes sense.
Not every difference in movement needs treatment straight away — but many children benefit enormously from early, targeted support. Among others, we work with children and young people who have:

The aim of physiotherapy is to improve your child’s mobility, posture and motor skills. With specific exercises we build strength, coordination and balance.

We combine established therapeutic methods with robot-assisted physiotherapy and modern approaches — playfully, individually and with plenty of enjoyment.

  • developmental delay and difficulties with posture
  • neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy
  • orthopaedic problems after injury or surgery
  • muscular differences and difficulties with coordination
  • respiratory conditions
Every step counts. We walk alongside your child — at their pace, with patience and with heart.

Bobath therapy

Bobath plus – more than conventional physiotherapy

Many children with a neurological diagnosis start therapy with us in their first year of life – for example after premature birth, with cerebral palsy or suspected CP, brain malformations or genetic syndromes such as Down syndrome. The earlier therapy begins, the better we can make use of the young brain’s remarkable adaptability. We work gently and at your baby’s pace on head control, rolling and muscle tone – and show you handling techniques to support your child at home.

At HOME4MOTION Kids, Bobath doesn’t stand alone: we combine the concept with robot-assisted gait training, balance training and – where appropriate – occupational therapy and speech therapy under one roof. For rapid progress, we offer intensive therapy lasting 1 to 3 weeks. We’ll discuss the right approach for your child in a free initial consultation.
Bobath Concept

Bobath Therapy for Babies and Children in Vienna & Graz

The Bobath concept is one of the best-known approaches in neurological paediatric physiotherapy. The therapist guides your child’s movements with her hands, regulates muscle tone and supports the next developmental steps – from rolling and sitting to crawling and walking. There is no rigid exercise programme: every session is tailored to what your child needs and can do right now.

For babies

For a preferred posture, head tilt, unusual muscle tone, or when rolling, sitting and crawling are slow to come. The recommendation often comes from your paediatrician – you don’t need a prescription for the initial consultation.

For children with a conditions

For cerebral palsy (CP), neurological conditions, genetic disorders such as Down syndrome, or after surgery and Botox. Bobath improves posture, balance and gait – at our centre combined with gait training and robot-assisted therapy.

For parents

You learn how to carry, position, change and feed your child correctly in everyday life. This way the therapy keeps working between sessions – without an extra exercise programme.

FAQ

Questions about Physiotherapy and Bobath Therapy for Children

From diagnosis and the initial consultation to costs and health insurance – here you'll find answers to the questions parents ask most often. Can't find your question? We're happy to advise you personally in a free initial consultation.

Which children is physiotherapy at HOME4MOTION Kids suitable for?▾
We specialise in children and adolescents with neurological and neuromuscular conditions – such as cerebral palsy (CP), spina bifida, muscle diseases like SMA or Duchenne, genetic disorders like Down syndrome, and developmental delays. We treat children from infancy through adolescence, in Graz and Vienna.
What is Bobath therapy for children?▾
The Bobath concept is an approach in neurological physiotherapy. The therapist guides movements with her hands, regulates muscle tone and supports the next developmental steps. Therapy is playful and centred on your child's everyday life.
For which diagnoses is Bobath used?▾
Bobath is a core concept for cerebral palsy, hemiparesis, early brain injury, brain malformations and genetic syndromes such as Down syndrome. It is also often recommended for babies without a diagnosis who show a preferred posture, unusual muscle tone, or delayed rolling and sitting.
From what age is Bobath therapy possible?▾
From the first weeks of life. Especially for children diagnosed early – for example after premature birth or with suspected CP – an early start pays off: the young brain is particularly adaptable during this time.
What happens in a therapy session – and are parents present?▾
A session lasts 60 minutes and is designed to be playful, so your child stays motivated. You are present and receive practical tips for everyday life – how to carry, position and support your child's movement. This way, therapy keeps working at home.
Can Bobath be combined with other therapies?▾
Yes – and that is often what makes therapy more effective. We combine Bobath with robot-assisted gait training, balance training, occupational therapy and speech therapy. In intensive therapy, these elements are combined particularly closely.
How often does my child need physiotherapy?▾
In regular therapy, 1–3 sessions per week are usually appropriate. After Botox or surgery, we often recommend an intensive phase with daily sessions. We decide on the exact frequency together after the initial consultation, depending on diagnosis, age and therapy goals.
